5 Baby Toys for Under $15 That All Our Children Have Loved!

Although it’s tempting to splash out a fortune on toys for your baby, experience has shown us that it’s often the simplest (and cheapest) gifts that are the best!

With five children ranging from teens to tots we’ve had plenty of experience with baby toys and the advantage of being able to look back over the years to see which toys have really stood the test of time!

Today we thought we’d share with you a list of our five favourite baby toys. Not only are they cheap (they’re all under $15) but all five of our children have loved playing with them at one time or another, meaning they all offer incredible entertainment value AND durability!

TOP PICK

Hide and Squeak Eggs

When our first daughter was born, her aunt bought her a set of these egg-cellent eggs. We’re still using them now – our 2 year old plays with them all the time – but that eldest daughter is now 17 years old! Yes – we’ve had our Hide and Squeak Eggs for 17 years and they’ve amused all 5 of our children… proof indeed of just how durable and entertaining they really are!

Wiggly Giggly Shaker

This is a very simple toy but it’s given our kids a lot of fun! Just rolling or turning it produces a sound, but shaking it up and down – which all babies love to do – really gets it giggling (and baby along with it)!

Gund Baby Tinkle Crinkle Rattle Toy

He’s rather advanced in years now and his nose shows all the signs of being lovingly chewed by all of our children, but our little Tinkle Crinkle is still in one piece and has always been a favourite. His antennae have been especially fun for playing with! As his name suggests, he provides lots of tinkling, crinkling noises that our little ones found delightful!

Stack and Count Cups

We said that simple toys are the best ones – case in point are these cups, a set of 8 that fit inside each other. There are no small or fiddly parts to worry about, they’re brightly coloured and, in our experience, baby (or toddler/older children) will find a million ways to play with them!

Sassy Wonder Wheel Activity Center

If it’s hard to get your baby to sit happily in his highchair once mealtimes are over, then this is the toy you need! We’ve always used one of these to occupy our smallest family member whilst we wash the dishes – it’s a lifesaver!
