A Tasty Fruit Combo for Baby’s Yogurt

Natural yogurt is delicious and a great source of calcium for your baby – but some little ones don’t always enjoy its ‘tanginess’ when it’s served by itself. Adding pureed fruit usually makes natural yogurt much more acceptable to baby – so today we have an interesting fruit combo suggestion for you to try!

First, take half a cup of raisins and put them into a small saucepan.

Next, add a little water or unsweetened apple juice and simmer them over a very low heat until the raisins are plump and soft.

Raisins for yogurt

Plump and juicy – ready for pureeing!

Transfer them to a bowl, along with the liquid from the pan.

Peel a small, ripe banana and add it to the bowl with the raisins.

Using a hand blender, puree to the desired consistency. You can puree this mixture until completely smooth, but I like to leave it ever-so-slightly chunky. The soft pieces of raisin are very ‘gummable’ and get baby used to texture.

Use the mixture to top your yogurt and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon if desired.

How to flavour baby's yogurt

And there you have it – a very tasty yogurt packed with vitamins that your baby will enjoy, but with absolutely NO added sugar. We love this flavour combination too – it’s deliciously fruity and perfectly sweet.

We hope your little one enjoys it 🙂

Note: This recipe produces enough fruit to flavour several servings of yogurt, so you can pop it in a jar and keep it in the fridge to use for up to 2 days. Alternatively, freeze into portions for future use.
