Expanded Warning About Red Tomatoes (US)

Last week we posted here about the FDA’s concerns regarding certain red tomatoes (you can see the post here).
The FDA is now advising ALL consumers not to eat raw red plum, raw red Roma, raw red round tomatoes, and products containing these tomatoes UNLESS they were grown and harvested from states, countries, and territories that have NOT been associated with this outbreak.

If you are not sure where your tomatoes are from, please call the store you purchased them from for more information.
The FDA does say, however, that it is safe to continue eating cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, tomatoes sold with the vine still attached and tomatoes grown at home.
