Recall of Bonavita Hudson and Babi Italia Pinehurst Drop Side Cribs (US)

| June 15, 2009 | 0 Comments

Bonavita “Hudson” and Babi Italia “Pinehurst” Drop Side Cribs are being recalled because they pose entrapment, suffocation and fall hazards. The problems are caused by the lower spring pins on the footboard and headboard, which can pop out of the tracks on the drop side and cause the drop side to detach from the crib. If the drop side detaches, a hazardous gap is created between the drop side and the crib mattress.

The wooden cribs have a metal support and were sold with various finishes including white, cherry, espresso and natural. All Hudson and Pinehurst drop side cribs with production dates from December 2006 through August 2007 are included in this recall.

You can find the product order (PO) number, item number, and color printed on a label, which is attached to the footboard or headboard.

The Babi Italia Pinehurst cribs were sold exclusively by Babies “R” Us. The Bonavita Hudson drop side cribs were sold for around $300 at Baby Basics, Beautiful Beginnings, and Buy Buy Baby stores and children’s product stores nationwide. The cribs were sold from December 2006 through December 2007.

If you have one of these cribs, please stop using it and contact Lajobi toll-free at (866) 688-9009 anytime, or visit their website at www.Lajobi.com. They will provide a technician to visit you at home and install a free retrofit hardware kit.
