Recall of Despereaux Stuffed Toys (Australia)
Dec 20th, 2008 by Christine
‘Despereaux’ stuffed toys are being recalled because the whiskers may come off, posing a choking hazard to young children. Also, the toy has a thin belt which may pose a ‘tourniquet’ hazard (ie it may restrict blood flow).
The toys involved are beige, green and brown in colour, with plastic whiskers and the thin rope belt. They were given away as free gifts in Victoria at the Preston Library Family Fund day on 21 November 2008. They were also given away in Western Australia as part of the Newspapers in Education Promotion with the Western Australian Newspaper on 21 November 2008 and at the Cinema Pioneers Christmas event on 27 November 2008 and in South Australia at the Children’s Christmas Party Event at Adelaide Zoo on Sunday 7 December 2008.
If you have one of these toys, please take it away from your child and return it to Universal Pictures Publicity and Promotions Dept at 3 Munn Reserve, Millers Point NSW 2000 (providing your name and address). You will receive a free family movie ticket in exchange.
