Recall of Meijer Apple Juice (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky)
Aug 26th, 2009 by Christine
Meijer is recalling its Meijer Brand Apple Juice, sold in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. This is because the juice may contain too much patulin, which is an organic compound found in stored apples and in many types of apple juice. It doesn’t usually cause any problems, but – when the patulin levels are too high – it can cause mild stomach discomfort.
The product affected is:
Meijer Apple Juice (sold in 64 ounce plastic containers) – UPC 00000000-41250-94314-3 with a “sell by” date of 4/16/10.
If you have this product, you are advised to destroy it or return it to any Meijer location for a full refund. If you need help in identifying the product, then please call the Meijer customer contact center at 800-543-3704.
