Supreme Cuts LLC is recalling its Off the Cob Fresh Kernel Corn in 12 oz bags, which may be contaminated with Listeria.
The product involved comes in a 12 oz clear plastic bag which is marked with a “best if used by” date of May 26, 2008 and lot # 5343. Instructions on the packaging tell consumers to cook the product but - although this may reduce the risk - the FDA is advising people to throw the product away.
The corn involved in this recall was distributed to a small number of stores in New Jersey and Massachusetts, although all affected bags are believed to have been removed from shelves. Nevertheless, you should check your refrigerator to see if you have any ‘Off the Cob’ with a “best if used by” date of May 26 - and, if so, you should dispose of it.
