[…] recall involving SMA has been announced (a batch of SMA Gold Ready To Use Liquid Infant Milk was recalled on the 12th) - and this time it’s two batches of Follow-On Milk Powder […]
Our son has been having Follow on powder since 6months old with no problems. We’ve just had 3 days of violent vomiting, and have narrowed it down to the milk powder.
I didn’t even know about the recall since I started searching.
The batch we are using is none of the recalled ones, its; Q8E284R26 065991 (BB: 27/10/2009).
It looks like more were affected than they know about. Our child is not a “sick” child, he’s hardly ever sick, but now everything is coming up. Which is how we KNOW it is the milk powder.
What I also find suspicious is that whilst searching I have found at least 3 SMA recalls, Follow on Powder, GOLD Ready Made and WySoy. Yet each recall states “no other SMA product is affected”.
Thank you for your comment, Steve. As the milk you suspect of making your little one sick is NOT on the recalled list, I would definitely recommend contacting SMA on 0800 089 0075 to alert them to the problem you are experiencing. I do hope your poor little man is feeling better soon and that SMA thoroughly investigate your complaint.
