Safeway Recalls Ground Beef In Nine States

| August 7, 2009 | 0 Comments

Safeway Inc. is recalling 825,769 pounds of ground beef that may be associated with an outbreak of Salmonellosis. The affected products were sold between June 6 through July 14, 2009 in: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming.

The ground beef is no longer available in the stores but the concern is that customers may have frozen this beef for future use. Please check your freezer to see if you have ground beef that you bought from either a Safeway full service counter or self service area, with the sell-by dates and in the areas listed above. If so, you should throw it away or return it for a full refund. This recall includes fresh ground beef, fresh ground beef patties and fresh meat loaf.
