Have you ever had to pit 169 cherries… by hand… one by one?
Neither have we (thank goodness), but this was what one of the visitors to our Facebook page had to do recently when she was preparing cherry baby food in bulk for her little one.
In the ensuing discussion about the ‘joys’ of pitting cherries in large quantities, another of our group members suggested the Cherry Chomper – a cool tool we hadn’t yet encountered!
We went off to see if we could find it – and here it is available at Amazon.
We happen to think this is a rather clever little gadget – you just pop your cherries (still one by one, admittedly) into his mouth, push down the head and retrieve your neatly pitted cherry!
Even the most tedious kitchen tasks are more fun with a gadget! But once you’re bored with the novelty of using your Cherry Chomper, you can be sure that your older children will be queueing up to have a go… so it’s useful on two levels!
And if you feel that you don’t buy cherries often enough to justify the expense, then perhaps the fact that the Cherry Chomper successfully chomps olives, too, will be enough to persuade you!
Have YOU found a handy kitchen gadget that makes the preparation of homemade baby food (or adult food!) a little easier? Tell us about the kitchen gadget YOU couldn’t live without!

The link is showing this error message. "We're sorry, but there appears to be an error with the page you are currently trying to access." You can still find the product by searching the term "Cherry Chomper" The design is cute. It works for both cherries and olives. I think it is a cool tool.

I went to this site with the full intention of buying one of these. Apparently they don't ship them to Canada though. :(

Woah! Awesome. I'm going to have to have one! I have an olive pitter that I use from time to time on cherries. It works OK, but this looks great! I wonder if IT would work with OLIVES?!! Fabulous. Thanks for sharing!
