Today we have a nice and easy puree recipe for you incorporating vegetables AND fruit, resulting in a tempting sweet flavour your baby will enjoy. What’s more, everything is cooked in one pot, so clean up is easy too!
This puree is perfect for babies from around 7 months of age. Although fairly smooth when pureed, it is thicker than a basic veggie puree and provides just a hint of texture as your baby moves on to dealing with more ‘solid’ solids!

To Make Baby’s Chicken, Pear and Vegetable Puree You Will Need…
2 medium sweet potatoes (peeled and cubed)
2 medium carrots (peeled and cubed)
2 small parsnips (peeled and cubed)
1 leek
1 pear (peeled, cored and cubed)
1 boneless, skinless chicken breast, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
water – or low sodium or homemade chicken stock
Cut the leek in half lengthwise and ‘swoosh’ it around in a bowl of water to remove any dirt. Trim the end, then chop the white and pale green parts finely.
Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan and saute the leek, diced parsnips and diced carrots until tender.
Add the chopped chicken and continue to saute until golden.
Add the cubed sweet potato and the pear.
Just cover the mixture with the water or stock and bring the mixture to the boil.
Cover, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 to 15 mins, until all the veggies are tender and the chicken is cooked through.
Transfer to a food processor and blend to a puree, or use a hand blender and puree right in the pot.
Cool to a safe temperature and serve!
