If you’re in Canada and have a Baby Bullet system, please note that Health Canada is advising you to obtain updated instructions for its use.
The problem is that if the system’s silicone gasket is installed incorrectly before each use it can come into contact with the blades and get chopped to pieces… pieces that will end up in baby’s food. The pieces would not be toxic, nor – according to Health Canada – are they likely to pose a choking hazard. Nevertheless, you clearly need to ensure this doesn’t happen and the updated instructions give greater warning about the hazard.
It is important to follow the cautionary safeguards suggested in the instruction manual, which include installing the gaskets correctly, inspecting the gaskets before every use to make sure they’re in good condition, making sure the gasket has not loosened during use and ensuring you’ve installed the blade assembly correctly.
It’s also recommended that you hand-wash the blade holders and gaskets and NOT wash them in the dishwasher.
