Massive Recall of Infant Tylenol (US)

Around 574,000 bottles of Infants’ TYLENOL® Oral Suspension, 1 oz. (Grape) are being recalled because some parents found the SimpleMeasure™ dosing system difficult to use. The system includes a dosing syringe, which a parent or caregiver is supposed to insert into a protective cover known as a “flow restrictor,” at the top of the bottle. This is intended to measure the proper dose. However, some parents found that the flow restrictor was pushed into the bottle when they inserted the syringe.

Please note that Children’s TYLENOL® products, which are meant for children two years of age and older, are not affected and are still available.

According to the recall notice, you can carry on using Infants’ TYLENOL®, as long as you ensure that the flow restrictor at the top of the bottle remains in place.

If the flow restrictor becomes pushed into the bottle, then you should stop using the product. You can request a refund by visiting contacting McNeil at 1-888-222-6036 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time; Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time) or by visiting www.tylenol.com.

If you have any concerns regarding this recall, please call your healthcare provider or visit www.tylenol.com.
