Recall of Aveeno® Baby Calming Comfort® Lotion

One lot of Aveeno® Baby Calming Comfort® Lotion is being recalled because a test showed that it ‘exceeded the specifications for common bacteria’. Whilst subsequent tests showed it to be safe, it was withdrawn by Johnson & Johnson as a precaution.

According to the FDA press release:

This action is not being undertaken on the basis of adverse events and the potential for adverse health effects is remote. Other lots of AVEENO® BABY CALMING COMFORT® LOTION are not affected by this recall and remain available.

The affected lot was, according to the release, sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.
