Recall of Britax Baby Safe Infant Carriers (UK)

BRITAX BABY-SAFE infant carriers are being recalled because the handles can be damaged or even detach if sudden force is applied. This obviously presents multiple hazards to baby.

If you have bought one of the products potentially affected by this issue (purchased between 1st February & 31st March 2012), Britax asks that you stop using it immediately.

The BABY-SAFE infant carriers involved in this recall were sold in Europe between 1st February and 31st March 2012. If you bought your carrier before 1st February or after 31st March 2012, your product is NOT affected. According to the Trading Standards press release, only a limited number of consumers are using this carrier.

Please note: This recall affects ONLY the BABY-SAFE. It does NOT include the BABY-SAFE plus II or the BABY-SAFE plus SHR II.

To tell if your product is a BABY-SAFE, check to see if the handle adjustment buttons are situated on the pivot point of the handle. There is one on each side.

On the infant carriers that are NOT affected (BABY-SAFE plus II and BABY-SAFE plus SHR II), the handle adjustment buttons are found at the TOP of the carrying handle.
