Gap is recalling some Baby Swimsuits in the US and Canada because the halter straps on the suits are too short. This means that the plastic ring on the neck of the swimsuit presses against the child’s throat, obstructing the airway and thus posing a strangulation hazard.
These swimsuits were sold in two styles: number 706260 is blue and white and number 700452 is red and white. You can find the style number on a label located on the swimsuit. Both the swimsuit and the straps are made of a synthetic knit stretch fabric of polyester and spandex and they were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months.
The swimsuits were sold for between $17 and $20 at The babyGap, GapKids, Gap, Gap Outlet stores nationwide and online at www.gap.com from February 2010 through April 2010.
If you have one of these swimsuits, please stop using it and return it to the store you bought it from, or contact Gap and arrange to mail it back if you bought it online.
