Yet another recall of drop side cribs to tell you about today – and this time they’re from Pottery Barn Kids.
The drop-side cribs, which were sold across America from January 1999 through March 2010, may pose entrapment and fall hazards because the crib hardware may break due to incorrect assembly or age-related wear and tear. This can cause the drop side to detach.
36 reports have already been made of drop sides malfunctioning or detaching, leading to several injuries.
All Pottery Barn Kids drop-side cribs are included in this recall, regardless of the model number. ‘Pottery Barn Kids’ is printed on a label attached to the crib headboard or footboard.
The cribs were sold for between $300 and $600 exclusively through the Pottery Barn Kids catalog, website and at Pottery Barn Kids retail stores nationwide .
If you have one, you are asked to stop using it and to inspect the hardware to make sure it is not broken. You should then contact Pottery Barn Kids to receive a free fixed-gate conversion kit that will immobilize the drop side.
