The Trading Standards Institute has issued a warning regarding the Cosatto Stratford Cot Bed.
Back in April 2010, the company developed a safety enhancement device that could be fitted at home, for a version the bed made between 2005 and 2009. This is because it was possible to create a dangerous gap between the upper and lower cot bed leg sections if the cot was moved or lifted. It was also possible for the drop side mechanism of the cot to disassemble.
If you received this device and fitted it to your cot, then you do not need to take any further action.
However, if you have a Cosatto Stratford Cot bed, in either white or nut finish, and do NOT have the device fitted, please check the Product Description Label on the Trading Standards website, then check the Date Code Label to see if your cot bed is affected by the problem. The labels are on the mattress base slats.
Those versions affected have Date Code Labels dated from 01/09/2005 to 18/03/2009 (inclusive).
If you have one of the affected cots, please stop using it for now and contact Cosatto immediately, via 0871 977 3888, or via email at stratford@cosatto.com with your details. You will be sent the safety enhancement device, with an Allen key and fitting instructions.
