If you bought any clothes for your baby from Carter’s 2007 product line, then you will be interested to learn that the ‘tag-less’ labels used on these garments have given some babies rashes on their upper backs.
This particular clothing line has labels on the inside of the back of the garments featuring a raised surface with a solid, instead of a stenciled, background. Labels with stenciled backgrounds – in previous and current lines – don’t seem to have caused any skin irritation.
The clothes involved were made in different countries and were sold at Carter’s own retail stores and at department and national chain stores.
If your little one develops a rash after wearing clothes that have the tag-less label with a solid background, then please stop using the garment – and you are advised to speak to your child’s doctor if the rash gets worse, or just won’t go away.

My daughter has recently developed a rash as well and it does seem to be coming from her Carter's tagless clothing. Hers are also the stencil as mentioned by Stella. So, I don't think that the stenciled are exempt from these issues!

I live in zambia. I bought some carter's clothes from a local shop and some were bought for me by my sister-in- law from the US. My ten months old son started having rash on his upper back at six months and i tried all kinds of creams to no avail. The rash disappeared when i stopped using the carter clothes. The interesting part is the labels were stenciled and not solid.

Interesting. My daughter has lots of carter's clothes, but only a few with these specific labels. They are hand-me-down pyjamas from her cousin. No rash though.
