What’s more, it is the perfect combination of flavors. The slightly tart kiwi fruit tastes incredible mixed with the sweet banana and strawberries. This is a dish your little one will love, and it takes just a couple of minutes to put together.

When can babies eat kiwi fruit?

With your doctor’s consent, kiwifruit can be offered from 6 months of age. But there are a few things you need to take into account before offering it to your baby:

Kiwi fruit is fairly acidic. This means that it could trigger a rash around your baby’s mouth, an upset tummy, or a diaper rash.

Kiwi fruit sometimes causes an allergic reaction. It is especially important to check with your doctor before offering it if you have a family history of food allergy.

Some parents find that kiwi fruit makes their babies’ reflux symptoms worse.

As with most new foods, once given the go-ahead by your doctor, try just a little at first and see how your baby gets on.

When can babies eat strawberries?

There was once a time when parents were advised to wait until their babies were 12 months old before introducing strawberries.

This is because allergic reactions to strawberries are fairly common. In some cases, strawberries have been known to worsen the symptoms of asthma and eczema in babies.

But that rule has changed in recent times and most doctors now recommend introducing strawberries – and other foods considered to be ‘highly allergic’ – from 6 months of age.

Nevertheless, you should still check with your doctor, as reactions to strawberries can be serious for some babies.
