Easy Banana Bread For Baby

Once your baby is old enough to feed himself, then why not try making him this simple banana bread! Not only is it VERY yummy, it contains NO added sugar – the sweetness comes from the bananas (which should be nice and ripe) and the raisins.

Easy banana bread for baby

Our whole family loves this recipe, which tastes great as it is, but is also very nice with a little butter or cream cheese.

For Baby’s Banana Bread You Will Need…

2 large, ripe bananas (mashed)
6 oz (2/3 cup) organic raisins
8 oz (2 cup) self rising flour
4 oz (1/2 cup) butter
2 beaten eggs
big pinch nutmeg
big pinch cinnamon.

1. Add the nutmeg and cinnamon to the flour and rub in the butter, until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.

2. Stir in the raisins and the egg, then the mashed banana.

3. Bake in a greased loaf tin at 350 deg F (175 deg C) for 45 mins to one hour, until firm, risen and golden.

GREAT easy recipe! My 2.5year old loves it, as do both myself and husband! Might have upgraded to marginally more grown up version by replacing quarter of raisins for dark choc drops.. very tasty all around and toddler thinks it’s great!

Oh yeah she is 1 yr and 4 months now, something wrong went with my cake as from outside it looked fine but from inside it seems to be raw :(

I'm sorry to hear that, Al. Were the cooking time and oven temp correct?

Hiiii, ive tried it and made a tiny change since my daughter has 5 teeth only and its a bit difficult for her to chew on raisins.. so i avoided adding them and instead added a bit of honey to the mix.. its still in the oven and hope it bakes well and tastes good.. pray for me guys

Is your little one over a year old? Honey can be harmful to babies under 12 months (more info here). You can always puree the raisins if you are concerned about texture.

Hi, want to try this out later! Can u freeze it after? I normally make big batches of snacks for my twins, freeze and then get out each morning but not sure if these will be suitable for freezing? Thanks

Yes Becci – just slice it first, and wrap each slice in food safe wrap ?
