Recall of Cribs Sold at jcpenney (US)

Yu Wei Drop-Side Cribs sold exclusively at jcpenney are being recalled because the drop-side rails on the crib can malfunction, detach or unexpectedly fall down. This causes part of the drop side to fall out of position, creating a space into which a baby could roll and become trapped. This poses suffocation, entrapment and strangulation hazards. It’s also possible for incidents like this to happen due to incorrect assembly and due to age-related wear and tear.

The Yu Wei full-size cribs were sold under the Scroll and Lauren model names for between $300 and $450. They came in antique white, pecan and dark cherry. You can find the following model numbers and date codes on the inside of the crib’s end panels.

343-8225 Scroll Crib 01/2006-12/2010
343-9117 Lauren Crib 01/2007-12/2010

The cribs were sold from January 2006 through December 2010.

If you have one, please stop using it and contact Yu Wei for a free immobilizer kit, which will immobilize the drop side. You can contact Yu Wei at (877) 806-8190 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or email them at yuweiparts@aol.com.
