Recall of Step2 Push Around Buggies and Whisper Ride Buggies (Australia)

Step2 Push Around Buggies and Whisper Ride Buggies are being recalled because there is a risk that the handle can detach from the buggy itself. This would leave an adult with no control over the buggy, clearly posing a hazard to a child.

The buggies affected by this recall have pins with yellow knobs on the back of the buggy – buggies with handles attached with a bolt and screw are not affected.

These toys, intended for children aged 18 months to 3 years, come in a variety of colours including: green, blue, orange, pink and red. There is a red “Step2” logo on the front of the handle.

The model numbers affected are:

715700, 792300, 7923TA, 7923OR, 796600, 7966TA, 768400, 882900, 885700.

The Universal Product Codes are:

733538715701, 733538768493, 733538792306, 733538792313, 733538796694, 733538882991, 733538885794.

The buggies were sold across Australia from January 2005 to August 2010 at Educational Experience (Australia), Robert Bennett Agencies Pty Ltd, Funtastic Education, Frasers Cycles Sports & Toys, Lily’s Playhouse, Ryan’s Toys Australia and The Playroom

If you have one of these buggies, please check it carefully. If it has a pin with a yellow plastic knob, immediately stop using it and contact your local retailer for a repair kit. You should not use the buggy until the repair kit is installed.

You'd need to contact the manufacturer directly for that :)
