Recall of Tike Tech Jogging Strollers (US)

Tike Tech Single City X3 and X3 Sport Jogging Strollers are being recalled. This is because the opening between the grab bar and the seat bottom of the stroller can allow an infant’s body to pass through and become entrapped at the neck by the grab bar. This obviously poses a strangulation hazard to an un-harnessed child – although, of course, it’s always recommended that a harness is used in a stroller and that babies are never left unsupervised.

This recall affects the grab bar on Tike Tech Single City X3 and X3 Sport strollers. You can find the words “Tike Tech” printed on the footrest and on the back of the stroller on the left and right sides.

The following ID codes are included in this recall (you can find the code on the interior left side frame):

TT-18-01
TT-18-02
TT-18-03
TT-18-04
TT-18-05
TT-18-06
TT-18-07

The grab bar is optional and can be removed from the stroller.

The strollers were sold at juvenile product stores nationwide and websites including www.amazon.com for about $300 from October 2009 through February 2010.

If you have one of the strollers included in this recall, please remove the grab bar from the stroller and contact Tike Tech to receive a free replacement grab bar.

You can contact Tike Tech at (800) 296-4602 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email them at recall@tiketech.com or visit the firm’s website.
